About Aluminium Alloys

Primary Al alloys present a lower mechanical property as well as lower castabillity in comparison to the secondary Al alloys Al-Si family.
As a general application the primary Al- alloys is suggested when electrical and thermal conductivity within stress corrosion resistance is requested. In the High pressure die casting process castability is the one of the main priority that allows to obtain small wall thickness under various geometry, for this reason the secondary AL-alloys (under eutectic configuration) is mandatory. The mix between High pressure within the quick drop of temperature inside the mould cavity assure high productivity to the process, but at the same time as a consequence have a great impact on bad or good quality. The balance between high pressure and drop of temperature inside the mould cavity within the knowledge of the chemical/fisical properties of the alloys are the basics concept to run the right process.
